Collaboration Preparation

I'm looking forward to working collaboratively again (see the entry below for details), and have been making some drawings that function as notes or "scores"-in-progress.

Here are some of the "scores"-in-progress I've been making for work that combines movement, sound, and sculpture. The garments function as sculpture in these works.

Collaboration

I'm looking for a dancer/choreographer to collaborate with over the next 7 months. The project I'm envisioning would set up a series of opportunities to dialogue through movement, drawings, processes, and the use of objects.

One area of exploration that I propose for this project is the notion of shifting from systems that have put into motion the process of global warming to systems that re-envision how to live in a relationship of respect for ecological realities. I’m interested in how that which is vanishing and that which is coming into focus might look, and I’m interested in how to transform images so that they appear to have shifted, or are in the midst of transforming. How do we envision shifts in modes of transport, changing the literal landscape of our freeways, streets, and distribution systems?

I'm interested in how absurdity and play have a role in this project...
